This project involved the strategic expansion of the existing Beckwith Place development through the addition of four new apartment buildings with dedicated carports. The expansion introduced 64 two-bedroom, two-bathroom units to the northeast Grand Rapids area, meaningfully increasing the community’s residential capacity.
The design intent centered on three core objectives: replicating the established architectural floor plate to maintain visual and functional continuity with the original development, incorporating updates to satisfy current building code and accessibility requirements, and thoughtfully adapting the site plan to respond to the natural topography of the land.
The result is a cohesive expansion that feels native to its surroundings while meeting the evolving demands of modern residential living.
