Role Requirements

Under the guidance of the firm’s senior team members, the Project Architect’s primary day-to-day responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Design Oversight: Lead the design process, ensuring that architectural plans meet client specifications and regulatory requirements, from conceptual phase through construction documentation.
  • Project Management: Coordinate all phases of the project, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Client Interaction: Engage with clients and stakeholders to gather requirements, present designs, and provide updates throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Documentation: Prepare and manage construction documents, including drawings, specifications and reports.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that the project adheres to building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior architectural staff.
  • Ensure project documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Review contractor RFI’s, submittals, and shop drawings.
  • Handle project-related communication and negotiations with clients and contractors.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education and Qualifications

  • Professional degree in architecture field required, from an NAAB accredited program.
  • 5-7 years of experience in architectural field.
  • LEED Accreditation is preferred.
  • Experience in both Commercial and Residential construction.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating innovative and functional design solutions.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale architectural projects.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, building systems, construction techniques, and architectural detailing.
  • Experience preparing architectural construction documents.
  • Ability to coordinate with structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, and landscape consultants.
  • Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills.
  • Proficient with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD Architecture, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Role Requirements

Under the guidance of the project’s senior team members, the Architectural Designers’ primary responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Conceptualization: Participate in the initial design process; brainstorming and developing conceptual ideas for projects. Contribute to design discussions with the team, create sketches, and generate design options.
  • Design Development: Work on refining and developing the design, once chosen. Create detailed drawings, 3D models, and CAD renderings, while considering all factors of functionality, aesthetics, building codes, and sustainability principles.
  • Technical Detailing: Create detailed technical drawings and specifications that communicate the design intent to contractors and Builders. Develop plans, elevations, sections, and construction details ensuring accurate implementation of design.
  • Material Selection: Assist in selecting materials, finishes, and fixtures for projects. Research and recommend materials based on performance, aesthetics, and sustainability.
  • Coordination with Team Members: Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients. Ensure design integrates with other disciplines while addressing any conflicts or issues that may arise during the design process.
  • Code Compliance: Ensure that design complies with local building codes, regulations, and zoning requirements. Stay updated on the latest codes/guidelines to ensure the design is safe and legal.
  • Construction Administration: Potential to be involved in the construction administration phase (visit site and monitor progress, review shop drawings, and address any design-related issues that arise during construction)
  • Research and Innovation: Stay informed of the latest trends, technologies, and innovations in architecture and design. Ongoing education and exploring new ideas to bring fresh perspectives and creative solutions to the projects.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
